We are super excited about the upcoming camp fundraiser, A silent auction and live pie auction.
April 8 at Crossfield Baptist Church.
Tickets are on sale right now at Crossfield Baptist church or Grace Baptist, or Fairview Baptist church.
The Camp theme this year is “Stay Calm and Press On” Taken from Phil 3:12-14 “12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press ontoward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Registration is filling up fast, which is awesome but we will have a limit of how many campers we can take per camp so please don’t wait until the last minute, the sooner the better! We are holding 5 weeks of camp this summer plus one week of Training camp Starting July 2.
All our weekends in June and August are rented out and also the 1st weekend in Sept. so there are only a few weekends left for rentals in Sept. The camp facilities can be rented during the week between weekend rentals if any one is interested ( June, August & Sept only).
Though most of our staff is returning we still have some important staffing needs. We are still in need of Cooks helpers for all the camps except Junior camp. Some more “Counselors and maintenance staff”
If hands on helping is more your speed we will be having some work bees some weekends in May (Weather Permitting)
If you would like to come help us out this summer, you can apply online at whisperingpinesbiblecamp.com. If you have any questions please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
Spring cleanup is done, Fairview and Crossfield have had their family camps, and the registrations are pouring in! Next Monday, July 6, WPBC will officially be kicking off its summer camps as staff arrive for Staff Training Week. The theme for this summer is Faith Heroes.
As excitement builds for our camp season, we still need more people to come help out at camp. Most importantly, we need at least one more senior male counsellor (18+) for the August camp weeks. If you love children ages 6-10 and have one or two weeks open, we need your help!
We also still need both male and female junior counsellors (16 & 17) and many more trainee workers (14 & 15). Please pray that God will help us to fill these positions, and that he will bless our camp ministry this summer.
If you would like to come help us out this summer, you can apply online at whisperingpinesbiblecamp.com. If you have any questions please send us an email at email@example.com or call our office at 403-831-0804. We look forward to hearing from you!
We want to welcome Stan Utz as the new camp Director.

Cabin leaders are the front-line of camp ministry. Daily, our cabin leaders teach our campers during cabin devotions, eat every meal with their cabin and teach our campers new skills.
They are there when a camper has questions about chapel at midnight (including a favorite: can God make a cookie so big He cannot eat it?). And they are there when a camper get sick in the night, cleaning up the mess.
Yet, when you look back, all the yucky-ness gets forgotten when you remember how, as a cabin leader, you got to witness firsthand God revealing himself to our campers at Whispering Pines.
That is the testimony that TimTam (a.k.a. Ernie) shared with us about his time as a cabin leader:
“There are many unique struggles and challenges that come with leading a cabin, but few things in life are more rewarding than witnessing the “aha” moment a child has when hearing
about salvation for the first time. Or spending a week mentoring kids and watching them grow. Or having the opportunity to lead a child to the Lord. As I spent many summers doing this, I feel that it was a large part of my own spiritual growth and maturity. I will never forget the summers I spent working at camp.” – TimTam (on the right)
We are looking for such cabin leaders, those are excited to show and teach Jesus Christ to our campers so that they too could follow Jesus. Who knows? Maybe one of those campers could become a cabin leader themselves!
Camp would not be possible without the youth, young adults, and others who sacrifice their time and energy to serve our campers.

Thank you so much for your support over the past few months. Moreover, thank you for your continued prayer support. God has been faithful!
As you may have heard, the Alberta Sustainable Resource Development (SRD) has excepted our lease renewal documentation, including the new survey giving us entitled beach access. Though there may be more work to be done in the future, SRD is satisfied that we have committed adequate actions to warrant an official inspection.
This final inspection by an SRD officer, would be the last step before we actually have the lease in hand. Obviously, the camp is under a foot of snow at the moment, so the earliest inspection date would be sometime in the Spring.
Please pray that our efforts (to which many of you have been a part of) will impress the officer and in turn, bring us the compliance stamp of approval, for a new 20 year lease.
After a year of running, the finish line is in our sights! Once again, thank you so much for partnering with us; so that Whispering Pines may have a bright future full of ministry potential!
September has almost arrived and I can hardly believe it! Our family had a fantastic time serving over 100 children and teens over 6 weeks of summer camp.
Obviously, each week was packed with fun and excitement, as campers took part in a variety of games and skills. All of which based in God’s wonderful creation! But even more exciting was that each week, a few campers accepted Jesus Christ into their life. By the end of the summer, 17 of the 129 campers who registered this summer made a decision to follow Jesus!
To be sure, working at a summer camp comes with a few of challenges. However, seeing results like this prove that God has a definite purpose for our little camp in the Albertan Foothills. It makes each challenge and hurdle SO worth the effort!
